    About us

    Nuuna team behind the scenes

Notebooks are daily companions, keeping our ideas safe and this is how they should look like.

That's why we not only make notebooks to write ideas in, but to look like they’ve had an idea themselves. nuuna is part of brandbook’s premium collection and our own label, through which we live our dedication for books. brandbook has specialized in producing notebooks, image books and calendars for corporate customers for over two decades. nuuna combines this expertise with a passion for creativity and design: a fusion of traditional bookbinding, special materials and innovative finishing techniques.

In our Frankfurt based studio, we develop new book concepts, testing materials and finishing processes with great attention to detail. Our purpose; to consistently interpret each book in a brand-new way. Our inspiration comes from the things we love most: architecture, fashion, literature, art and design.

We like nice things with a strong concept

So expect a clear idea behind every design. At times they’re loud, at other times quiet, but never boring, and always well thought out.

What you love, works best - preferably everywhere, every time. The look, the feel and the quality. nuuna notebooks are bound in soft recycled leather, metallic artifical leather, or jeans label material. Truly pleasant to the touch, yet robust and durable. The book covers are carefully produced using a silk-screen printing, resulting in intense colours, or an effective metallic embossing process.

The solid thread stitching allows the book to lay perfectly flat, so the pen can glide effortlessly across the middle. No kinks, no interruptions. The 120g premium white paper provides the ideal writing and drawing backdrop. Our dot grid offers subtle orientation.

Of course, a notebook should feel good in your hand yet still be large enough for lengthy writing or big fat sketches. Or so handy, you can whip it out of your bag for that spontaneous note. With each use in mind, we’ve developed the formats of our books ourselves – for only the best proportions and aspect ratios.

All of this, together with our mission for sustainable production, make nuuna notebooks unique. We print and bind our books to the highest standards, and exclusively in Germany. Our premium paper comes from sustainably-managed forests and is Cradle-to-Cradle certified. We are also proud supporters of the Bergwaldprojekt e. V. reforestation initiative.
